Mobility forms, traffic control and climate-friendly technology approaches - highlights of the second day.
The German Transport Forum (DVF) held a panel discussion with representatives from business and politics. They highlighted innovative forms of mobility and technology approaches for sustainable and affordable mobility of the future. "MES sets important impulses because it leads the individual industries and stakeholders into dialogue," said Managing Director Dr. Florian Eck. "This is necessary because we need to synchronize the transport, energy and digital sectors. Germany needs to step up in the basic requirements for smart mobility. We are strong in pilot projects and test fields, but shy away from broad implementation of digital innovations."
The German Railway Industry Association (VDB) spoke about the digitalization of passenger rail transport through ETCS automation, innovative communication and passenger guidance. "Today, climate-friendly mobility no longer has anything to do with doing without," emphasized Managing Director Dipl.-Ing. Axel Schuppe, reiterating the value of MES for the mobility industry. "For us, MES reflects a fresh spirit. For the mobility of the future, we network both with the transport carriers and across industries."
