From autonomous driving to mobility in the smart city - highlights of the first day.
Electromobility, Internet of Things or Mobility-as-a-Service - the #MES Insights kicked off today with a wide range of topics. The event kicked off with representatives from the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (ZVEI). (ZVEI), German Railway Industry Association e.V. (VDB) and Deutsches Verkehrsforum e.V. (DVF).
The German Electrical and Digital Manufacturers' Association (ZVEI) opened with a discussion on electric mobility in metropolitan areas - concepts, networking, infrastructure: "The key to a climate-friendly future lies in the comprehensive electrification and digitalization of all sectors," said André John, head of the ZVEI Mobility Platform.
Don Dahlmann, journalist and author, delivered the keynote address on "The Future of Mobility - Prospects and Opportunities," highlighting how autonomous driving is changing our mobility and what it will take for digitization to succeed in the mobility sector. "Totally unified transportation systems - that's what we're going to need in the future if we want to reduce traffic. For that, it's important to have trade shows like MES - because this is where people meet, where they can exchange ideas and talk about new technologies, suppliers can talk to customers and vice versa."
On Tuesday afternoon, Karl Blaim (Managing Director Siemens Mobility GmbH) and Rainer Straub (CPO Siemens Mobility GmbH) presented the Siemens Mobility Supplier Award to suppliers who have made a significant contribution to the success of Siemens Mobility in the current fiscal year. The following winners were honored:
• SSC Swiss Shielding Corporation AG (Switzerland) in the category "Technology & Innovation".
